All about my inane ideas

Today has so far been an altogether lovely day. I can only hope it continues in this vein. I woke up underslept but got together my stuff to take to Sadyba, where I helped decorate the tree. K then suggested we take the dogs for a walk, so I went to Jazdów to pick up Sawa, and B & Z recounted the story of how we broke a tree ornament yesterday. Supercute. Took the dogs for a drizzly walk, went to Empik for last-minute new-idea shopping, and as I was parking a fellow asked me for spare change. Upon reception, he first kissed my hand, and then, what the heck, went in for a hug. While this prolonged hug was taking place he whispered, "An embrace from a woman is a thing of wonder." Then, as I smiled my way into the still-open (whew!) Empik, my friend R from university noticed me and we spent an hour having coffee while he told me about finding God. And how talking to people who haven't found God just is NOT. THE. SAME. Hee hee hee!

So now I'm going to get dressed and take this joyous mood to the family gathering at Sadyba, where I hope some of You meet me, or skype us to share the moment.

Wesołych Świąt!

I was at the bookstore recently (duh, it's almost Christmas, of course I was at the bookstore) and I saw this sign:

so I wandered over to see what women were interested in, and found this:

So yesterday while I was out for drinks with G it started to snow. The winter has been long in coming (and that, to be clear, is not a complaint) and so we sat at our window seats and admired the delicately descending flakes (and the young man trying to catch them on his tongue) and it was quite lovely. As I walked home through the park, there was just enough snow cover on the ground to provoke pattern-creation. So I made a series of diamond tracks (small and large) then a snaking path among benches, and as I neared home I came upon a large swath of deserted walkway. What a rare opportunity! I looked to the right, and saw nothing but unmarred white... I looked to the left, and there was a giant penis.

I added a heart, for a tinge of, You know, romance.

In order for them to process my application to recompense the money someone withdrew from my bank account in Mexico recently, I have to provide the bank with a list of foreign countries I have visited in the past 2 years, with specific dates. I am guessing they don't realize how horribly difficult that will be for me.

I'm generally a slow-lane type of person. Not because I drive slow, no, I don't, not really, but because it is often the least congested and also the least demanding of cognitive resources (least need to change lanes or respond to others changing lanes)*. Anyway today I was on my way to making one of those uncustomary left turns when I stopped at a red light and experienced what fast-lane drivers must endure all the time: awkward eye contact with the guy at the bus stop. He was so close to me! Leaning over the median rail! Looking into my car! At me! It was awkward.

* Life would be different if I made more left turns
