What do You think is worse: telling a guy on the dancefloor to shove off because You're here with Your jealous girlfriend and You don't dance with anyone but her, then being observed dancing with a different guy, or telling a guy on the dancefloor that he's really just not appealing, then being observed dancing with a different guy?

I usually don't really care about people I reject on the dancefloor.
ReplyDeleteSecond choice is sort of better I guess.
Well that depends: is the guy a good dancer? Because then I would just dance with him.
ReplyDeleteThe picture I can't get out of my head is some guy asking you to dance and you declining and then the guy asking you to explain why you're declining. I think I can safely say I've never been on either end of that situation.
ReplyDeleteOr was that the point of your post?
ReplyDeleteThey never "ask you to dance". They (total, drunk, usually unattractive strangers!!) start "dancing" real close-like, usually with bodily contact, and don't notice/care about You scootching away, until You tell them explicitly that You don't want them to be dancing so close to You. Then sometimes it's best to give a reason. Such as, "hey, listen, that's my girlfriend, and I only dance with her." That's effectiver than other lines I've tried.
