So, I'm sure to be disgusted with most responses to this question, but here goes: In how many places, do You think, at a party full of upper class, high status, mover-and-shaker politically-active guests, would it be typically to hear a sentiment expressed thus: "You look so womanly the gays would never forgive us! Ha ha ha ha!"

I'm still trying to understand the sentiment. What are "the gays" supposed to be "forgiving" "us" for?
ReplyDeleteI believe the speaker is suggesting that "the gays" desperately want women to be more manly, and men to be more effeminate (for the differences between men and women to be eliminated).
ReplyDeleteI think the question would be: if the speaker did in fact want forgiveness, who should he ask?
